Data Analytics Recruitment tips that you can do to give you a competitive advantage when you’re looking for data analytics candidates.

Following on from last week in our first video of tips on how hiring managers can gain a competitive advantage in the data analytics market we talked about speed and how important it must be to get your process succinct and move quickly.
In fact, Gartner released an article and some research they done quoting the hiring managers that moved speed generally were getting 10% higher quality candidates.
We’ll post a link to that alongside this video.

The next thing that I wanted to talk about was engaging with candidates and it’s something that they talked about in their article.
For me, it’s important that hiring managers speak to candidates as quickly as possible. Ideally face-to-face, but if you can’t do it face-to-face then telephone calls. Or even a zoom call is becoming more popular now.
Just to have an opportunity to really build up the trust with candidates they’re four times more likely to believe you as a hiring manager than a recruiter, so that’s something that’s really really important.
Some of the big no no’s I do see, are sending out technical tests and things like that before you’ve even spoken to a candidate and expecting candidates to do it.
You’ll see a massively high dropout rate.

Engaging is an opportunity

The next thing I really would emphasize that hiring managers do is engage with candidates early. When I say engage, I really think it’s an opportunity nowadays that people need to explain the pros, the benefits of why somebody should come to work for your company your team.
And for you, as a hiring manager don’t just expect them to have done their research and read up at it and just automatically want to come work for you, really do spend some time explaining why you’d be a great company for them to work for.
