Business Development Manager (BDM)





Bodhi Resourcing is an established recruitment services provider within the exciting, innovative and thriving areas of data engineering, data science and digital transformation.


We are looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) to be responsible for the company’s business development strategy and approach across a targeted client list to sell our Talent as a Solution (TaaS) and Retained Search services.


You will be targeting viable companies that procure talent solutions within data, digital and technology markets and will include prospective, current and historical clients that have lapsed or required a full BD effort to establish increased sales.

This role would suit an existing recruiter who is keen to focus purely on client acquisition or an established BDM who is keen to challenge themselves within a new market. This is a hybrid role, with a blend of home office working and at our head office in Bristol city centre.




  • To establish and promote a full BD effort to sell the full range of Bodhi solutions (Enlightenment, Start Up, Outsource) across a target list of new, current and historical clients.

  • Prepare and attend client meetings, networking events, presentations, corporate and social events where required.

  • Work with delivery teams to ensure effective service delivery. This should include regular attendance at the head office.

  • Manage the process of bid and tender completion ensuring maximum effective response rate, measure win/fail rate on bid & tender process.

  • Establish and maintain director level and recruitment decision maker contacts with relevant targeted clients.

  • Help to ensure company-wide knowledge of client organisational structures to deliver an effective BD effort.

  • Ensure that the operational teams are aware of the organisational structure of all targeted clients and that effective communication is in place with all recruitment decision makers.

  • Facilitate the introduction of client recruitment decision makers to relevant internal consultants.

  • Work with our Marketing Manager to produce relevant marketing materials and coordinate campaigns that support BD efforts.

  • Conduct quarterly client review meetings involving Delivery and Vertical teams where required. Build and maintain a SWOT on each target client.

  • Produce comprehensive monthly reports to be reviewed monthly with the Director. 


Measurable Criteria 

To be able to demonstrate the delivery of a continual improvement in sales to the business quarterly. 


Key Performance Indicators 


  • Maintain a measurable client list of target clients under business development.

  • Conduct, record and measure monthly client meetings v target.

  • Build organisational charts of each target client ensuring management of key client contacts is co-ordinated.

  • As above monitor ongoing historical and projected sales performance from this client list.

  • Produce a narrative to support increases or decreases in sales performance across the produced client list for monthly review with the Director.
