Data Engineer / Python Developer

  • Are you someone that enjoys and has strong skills in Python development?
  • Are you comfortable using SQL?
  • Do you want to work in the music industry?
  • If so – then this is the role for you!

This is an exciting role for anyone with a strong python development skill set to work on solving some interesting problems specific to the music industry.

The company have a large database of songs, artists, record labels, producers and far more.  This database is SQL based and in the AWS cloud.  They have developed an in-house software in Python that scans their whole library, suggesting changes to clean it (reattributing artists, etc), updating data resales, radio plays, Spotify plays and the like.

This is currently an in-house tool and the project team that built it have moved on.  They now want someone to come in, take ownership of it, and develop it further.  The plan is to turn this from being an in-house tool to a client facing one, and build additional tools as well.

It’s a fantastic opportunity for someone to come in and take real ownership of a product, and build it in a direction that becomes a central core to the company.

Essential Skills

  • Strong Python development skills. The software is written in Python, so it is essential anyone coming in (at either the data engineer or junior data engineer level) has a strong background in Python
  • A good understanding of SQL is essential.  Extra points if you have used it in a data engineering capacity
  • Any experience with AWS or Azure is an additional bonus

This is a great opportunity to work in a truly fascinating industry.  It won’t be available for long, so don’t delay. Hit apply today!
